Oftentimes I have the tendency to buy on impulse and some of the things I bought, I just end up not using at all. Do you have any tips on how to be less impulsive?

I sometimes consider myself an impulse buyer too but I was worse before but I kinda mellow down a bit now. What I did was, before I buy something I give it a day or two to think about it. If after a day I really still want it badly then I go buy it but if the excitement of buying that thing fades a bit then I think again and give it another day to think until comes the time when I realize that I don't actually need to buy it. Just wait one day, it's all you need. It makes a lot of difference. It works for me, hope it does for you too

In addition to what sassy said, you can also take a small amount of money with you just enough to buy the thing or things that you are planning to buy that way when you see something that you liked you won't be able to buy it that day because you didn't have enough money that day aaanddd don't bring your credit card either so it will give you more time to think whether you really need to buy it.

leave your debit or credit card at home! if your going out for the day shoping with your friends or out to lunch or something take out the amount of cash you are willing to spend the day before and leave the plastic at home also with grocery shopping have a bugdet and a list. I know its boring but you dont end up overspending on stuff you dont need.
